This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage used on getpassmark.com and in the Passmark app. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner.

1What we use

  • Sign-in and session. Our authentication provider sets cookies so you stay signed in. The app does not work without them.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and PostHog to understand which pages are used and where visitors drop off. PostHog receives an account identifier for signed-in users, never a name or email.
  • Passmark usage log. Our own record of pages and actions, used for product reports and to understand how people start using Passmark. Your browser keeps a random identifier (key pm_anon_id) and a short queue of events not yet sent (key pm_evq_v1). The identifier is replaced when you sign out.
  • Session replay and heatmaps. We use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used, so we can fix confusing screens.
  • Outreach reference. If you arrive from one of our emails, a short reference code is kept in your browser storage (key passmark_oref) so we can tell which message brought you here.

2Controlling them

You can block or delete cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking sign-in cookies will stop you from signing in. Blocking analytics does not affect how Passmark works.
