Renewing a seal

UPDATED 24.10.2026 · 4 MIN

Renewing keeps the same seal ID and its history. Your current seal stays valid while Passmark reviews the renewal.

Before you startOnly an Owner can renew. The renewal window opens 60 days before the valid-to date, and runs for a period after expiry; the seal page shows the exact dates.
  1. 1
    Open the seal

On Seals, choose Renew on a seal in its window, or open the seal and choose Renew this seal.

  2. 2
    See what carries over

Documents still valid on the new date are reused. Anything that expires before then is marked Renew soon or Out of date; use Replace to upload the new one. You can still renew with items needing attention; the reviewer sees the same list.

  3. 3
    See what changed

The page lists rules added, updated or withdrawn in the requirement library since your seal was issued.

  4. 4
    Submit the renewal

    Choose Submit renewal.

After approval

The seal is re-scored and validity is extended by 12 months, with the same ID and a new version number. If you miss the valid-to date the seal expires; its history stays public.

Decision time

The renewal page says most renewals are decided in 1 to 3 working days. You can withdraw a renewal from your Seals page until it is decided.
