Phytosanitary & Quality
No plant material enters India without a phytosanitary certificate from the exporting country’s NPPO, attesting the RCN is free from regulated pests (Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003).
RCN consignments are routinely fumigated against live insect infestation; India inspects on arrival and will order re-fumigation (at cost + delay) if live pests are found. Provide the treatment certificate up front.
Destination Market Access
India’s PQ Order requires specific additional declarations (freedom from named quarantine pests) endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate for RCN. The exact wording is set by the importer’s Plant Quarantine import permit — get it from the buyer before inspection.
Commercial (not regulatory) but universal: Indian processors contract on outturn/KOR with reweighing clauses. A per-lot CoA protects your price. Raw cashew is treated as a raw material and does not presently need FSSAI clearance, only plant quarantine.
