Cashew export requirements for China (People's Republic)

Since 9 June 2026, cashew grown in an African country with diplomatic relations with China and processed there (shelled or in-shell, dried and sorted, for human consumption) can enter China under one unified set of requirements, with no country-by-country access talks. Consignments must be free of the quarantine pests China names, including khapra beetle; lots with live pests must be fumigated before export, and the treatment (agent, temperature, duration) must be stated on the phytosanitary certificate. The exporting country’s authority must supervise growing through to export.

GACC Decree No. 280 (in force 1 June 2026, replacing Decree 248) requires overseas food manufacturers to be registered with China Customs. "Nuts and seeds" is one of the 17 categories that must first be recommended by the exporting country’s competent authority. Under GACC Announcement 2026 No. 80 the producers, processors and storage facilities of cashew for China must be registered, and the registered list is published by GACC. Registration is valid five years and renews automatically.
