What EU buyers actually check before they pay

Last reviewed 29 July 2026

Winning an EU buyer is one thing; getting paid smoothly, repeatedly, is another. Here’s what sits behind their decisions — and how to be the supplier they keep.

The four things they’re really assessing

  • Regulatory compliance. Can you meet EUDR, food-safety and phytosanitary requirements without holding up their shipment?
  • Certifications. Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, organic, GlobalG.A.P. — the marks their own customers demand.
  • Traceability. Can you trace product to farm/plot, with evidence?
  • Consistency. Will lot two match lot one? Track record de-risks the relationship.

How to present it

Buyers don’t want a folder of attachments — they want one credible, checkable answer. A Passmark Score and public profile package exactly these four things into a link you can send with every quote.
